My name is Nathan Webster, and I am a freelance photojournalist who has embedded with US soldiers in Iraq several times from 2007-2009.

My work has been published in more than two dozen newspapers nationwide, the Long War Journal, and I was briefly quoted in "The Gamble," by foreign policy expert and Pulitzer Prize-winner Thomas Ricks.
I am a U.S. Army veteran of Operation Desert Storm, and served for five years from 1987-1992.
As a civilian journalist, I endeavored to tell the stories of individual soldiers for their hometown newspapers. I wrote what I saw and what I heard. I hope the written and photographic accounts in the printed version of "Can't Give This War Away: Three Iraqi Summers of Change and Conflict" give a fuller understanding of aspects of the war in Iraq of which you might otherwise have been unaware.
Excerpts and images from each of the book's chapters will be presented here.
