A big thanks to Patrick Nelson over at Real Combat Life for asking if I had heard of or listened to Rockie Lynne performing "Heroes Come From Small Towns" (see video below the break).
So who is this Rockie Lynne? I am sure you all have heard of him, but I hadn't....yes I know, shame on me! Rockie is a veteran himself, having served with the 82nd Airborne for 3 years.
It turns out that Rockie Lynne will be performing at a free concert
If you are into golf, then you should find a golf event near you. Not sure what Tee It Up For The Troops is all about?
Tee it up for the Troops, Inc. was established by the family and friends of a soldier serving in the U.S. Army. When the father asked what the son needed he responded by asking his father to do something for the soldiers and families of the fallen and disabled back home. This nonprofit 501(c) (3) corporation (Tax I. D. #20-2974507) was born to help fulfill that request, and to honor and recognize the needs of all veterans who have served this nation.
Beginning in 2005, in conjunction with and in support of Tee it up for the Troops' NATIONAL DAY OF GOLF, golf courses and country clubs throughout the U. S., on a day near September 11th have conducted golf tournaments to salute all those who have answered our nation's call to duty and raise funds for a wide array of programs and organizations devoted to the well-being, recovery and support of our wounded warriors, veterans and their families.
If you are going to be in the area of Mankato, Minnesota on August 28th, then plan on stopping in for a free concert that promises to bring high value entertainment to the stage to benefit our veterans!
Can't make the concert? You can still help "Tee It Up For The Troops" by sending your donation into the following address:
