BAGRAM, Afghanistan (Aug. 18, 2012) – Afghan and coalition forces detained four insurgents, located a weapons cache and cleared three improvised explosive devices during operations in eastern Afghanistan throughout the past 24 hours, Aug. 17.
Ghazni Province
Afghan National Security Forces and coalition forces found and safely cleared an IED in Gelan District.
Afghan National Security Forces and coalition forces discovered a weapons cache in Khowst District. The cache contained small mines and IED making materials.
Afghan National Army soldiers and coalition forces detained three insurgents during engagements in Khowst and Sabari Districts. The detained suspects were transferred to a base for questioning.
Afghan National Army soldiers and coalition forces found and safely cleared an IED in Bak District.
Logar Province
Afghan
National Security Forces and coalition forces detained an insurgent who was emplacing an IED in Baraki Barak District. The IED was cleared and the detained suspects were transferred to a base for questioning.
