Many people have asked me why I send care packages to men and women in our military, when I don't even know them. Furthermore, why would I continue to send them things when I never hear back from them? You spend a lot of money, take a lot of time to bake cookies and for what? Most of the time you don't hear a thing back. How do you even know if they got the stuff?
Truth be told? Read this email and then you tell me if you still need to ask any of those questions!!
"Just wanted to let everyone know that I am still alive and kickin. Things here have kind of died down, so to speak. My time here in Iraq is almost over. I just wanted to thank everyone for their prayers for me and for all the soldiers that are deployed around the world. Yall are the reason we keep fighting. I do apologize for not being able to be on more than I have been. We have been really busy since some insurgents still want to start things they can't finish. But like I said, things have died down quite a bit. But one thing is for sure. It is people like you that makes our time here go better and faster with packages and letters. You have no idea how it feels to get a letter or package in the mail. Our morale is so high from that.
Anyway, have a great day and a wonderful week" (JS)
This is why I do what I do each and every month!
