I have put together a list of sites you can go to for family assistance for those in the military, whether active duty or not.
When I say family assistance, we are talking about help that covers a whole wide range of areas. You might need help with paying your phone bill this month, or getting back and forth to your job, getting a car repaired to the other extreme of needing financial counseling, family counseling for coping while a spouse is deployed or having just returned from a deployment.
These are not places you may receive long term financial support from. They are for emergency use only. When for whatever reason, you just can’t make it to the end of the month, and there is no food to put on the table, the baby is sick, and where on earth do you turn to for help!! That kind of assistance, short term help to get you back on your feet again.
A few of the links will lead you to a group that will direct you to places in your own community, which are available to help you. They do not actually offer any family assistance in the form of money, food, etc. but instead provide a service of connecting you up with other groups, who do provide that type of assistance.
I suggest you go to each of the sites, read about what they have to offer and contact as many of them as you think might be of help to you. In most cases, there is either an email contact or mailing address, besides a phone number, so you won’t have to pay for a phone call.
The following organizations/groups are listed here for your information only, This does not serve as an endorsement of any goods or services they might provide.
