The Helping Heroes Grant for Tennessee Veterans

If you are a veteran who is a resident of Tennessee and has been for at least one year, then you may be eligible for The Helping Heroes Grant. This grant is for $1,000.00 per semester if you take 12 or more semester credits and if you are taking 6-11 semester credits then the grant is for $500.00.

This grant is awarded on a first-come first-served basis, and is available three times a year. For fall enrollment September 1 is the processing deadline; for spring enrollment, February 1 and for summer enrollment the processing deadline is May 1. In order to apply you need to mail or fax a completed application along with your DD-214 Form. Please check to see if you can send in a copy of your DD-214 Form before mailing or does it need to be an original. These need to be sent in to the Tennessee Student Assistance Corporation.
