The Copyright Policy of The War On Terror News is long overdue and the symbol alone has caused confusion on at least one person's part.
It is always granted and in fact encouraged that links to this page, whether direct to an article or to the page overall, or to a particular category be published. At no time does this require express permission, though it is also encouraged that an email be sent pointing us to the link.
At all times, we attempt to extend the same courtesies to others as we hope that will be extended to our work.
Much of our work comes directly and completely from "public domain" sources. By the nature of these
We wish to express our gratitude to those PAO employees and Troops for the great work that they do. Most often, they have written in such a manner that we cannot improve on their works. They report with greater objectivity than do any in our media today. If I have any complaint at all, it is that sometimes they are too cautious or don't get enough of the news that no one else is covering out. Without their hard work, the American People would be even more ignorant of the great work of Our Troops than is currently the case.
We do not own copyright to public domain sources but only to the specific accumulation of them into a single location. Every American is encouraged to use the same resources we do and republish the information you've already paid for.
The Daily Newsletter is a service to our readers which publishes the headlines and short excerpts of the articles so that the reader can determine what if any they wish to read in full. If you receive a copy of the Daily Newsletter of this page, you are authorized to republish that by forwarding it to friends, family, colleagues, news media, or placing it in full on your own website.
The Feedburner Feed is another service which you are authorized to place on your own website or email.
Original works by the authors of this news website are expressly copyrighted by War On Terror News and the individual authors. Each author is encouraged to use their specific copyright as well as are covered by the umbrella copyright of the page. As such, their individual copyright policy may differ from that of the site itself. Each is encouraged to post any differences in this category for easy reference of readers.
Republication of the original works of this page policy is that:
1) Excerpts and quotes are authorized, within reason. Generally speaking, this would be a maximum of the amount of text in the excerpts 'before the jump,' a paragraph or two, though there may be occasion when a greater amount may be required to get the gist of the point being made.
2) The reposting of entire original articles is not authorized, unless authorization for such is expressly granted. In such cases that it is granted, a link to the page is required, along with the authorization statement.
3) When quoting this page, a link to the specific work cited be made available to your readers. This is a service to your readers and acknowledgement to the page for their works. It allows your readers to see the context of the statements you have quoted. While I hope that no one mischaracterizes the words of this publication, that has already occurred.
Pictures on this page come primarily from two sources: public domain or the works of the author. This website does not own the rights to public domain pictures. Those belong to All American Taxpayers. It does own and maintain the copyright to those taken by the authors of the page. The republication of those owned by the authors can be granted only by the express permission of the copyright owner.
As a point of pride, 100% of all 2008 proceeds from this website went to Support the Troops, through direct support or through the financial support of the Non-Profits listed in the links of this page. The primary recipients were The Semper Fi Fund, The Fisher House, and the Marines of Lima 3/6 in their time of adversity, to replace items not replaceable by Military sources.
While we encourage our readers to support the advertisers of this page when making their normal purchases, when choosing where to give cash, we recommend donating directly to those Non-Profits. We won't turn down money, but we are not soliciting. In fact, it sends me into a frenzy trying to figure out how to best apply it when it comes in. If for some reason, you decide to go that route, it is helpful if you send me a note to explain your intentions.
