ISAF helps repair Zabul bridge
The bridge is predominantly used by locals, particularly by agricultural workers, and is an essential link between the local community and the regional economy.
The International Security Assistance Forces’ Regional Command South logistical staff were pivotal in the planning process and also transported the bridge from Kandahar province to Zabul. Repairs to the forty-five-metre bridge were completed in less than three days.
This was the first mission in Afghanistan for the engineers of the 576th Engineer Company from Fort Carson, Colorado. The engineers recently arrived from Iraq.
