Iraqis Capture Two Suspected Terrorists
Multi-National Corps – Iraq Release - BAGHDAD — The Iraqi Emergency Response Brigade, along with U.S. force advisors, arrested two suspected terrorists during an intelligence-driven mission outside of Baghdad, July 22. The elite police force was operating under the authority of a warrant issued by the Criminal Investigative Court of Karkh.
Court documents indicate that the constables arrested the suspected insurgents in accordance with the Republic of Iraq’s terrorism law. The suspects are allegedly affiliated with insurgent groups and wanted for conducting improvised explosive device and rocket attacks targeting Iraqi Security Forces operating in the area.
According to ground forces, the apprehension of these suspected terrorists will promote the rule of law and the legitimacy of the Iraqi Government.
