CJTF-82 releases MRAP video of children injured in rocket attack
BAGRAM AIRFIELD, Afghanistan (Sept. 30, 2009) – Combined Joint Task Force- 82 has released a video.
Anti-Afghan forces injure children in convoy rocket attack; MRAP footage: Two small children are injured during a rocket attack on U.S. forces in Logar province, Charkh District while on patrol early September. The children, approximately 7 years old, are in the line of fire and inured when insurgents launch a 107mm rocket at the convoy.
The children suffered shrapnel wounds, cuts and contusions. U.S. forces provided medical aid to the children. Infantry dismounts had patrolled the site of the attack minutes before the incident took place. The trigger man had to be there the entire time and waited to hit a vehicle carrying troops. This area is populated with many local nationals.
