I had a special request from a Marine Drill Instructor. He wished to express his feelings through our site regarding "the picture" of LCpl Joshua M. Bernard. "The picture" has a much greater impact than I first realized. Listen to what a fellow Marine has to say......
"If you do anything up about the picture in the future could you express for me my extreme outrage and disgust that the Associated Press could be so heartless as to publish that picture.
I only hope that I never stumble into seeing it as it will be extremely painful to see him like that. I do not understand why they did not respect his parents' wishes.
This is unprofessional of them to do that.
That picture will forever remind the Marines that were there, and torture them, of this horrible incident. When that image is thrown in front of their face they will picture that moment and it saddens me that the AP care so little for us to just put these tragedies on display.
My heart goes out to his family.
Thank you again."
