"Armed with Science highlights the importance of science and technology to military operations and celebrates those involved in cutting-edge research, development, and education."
"In January 2009, the Defense Media Activity launched, “Armed with Science: Research and Applications for the Modern Military,” a weekly webcast highlighting the importance of science and technology to the modern military. The program featured interviews with Defense Department scientists, engineers, and other subject experts, who discussed the critical role that science plays in helping our servicemebers operate more safely and efficiently. In the course of 49 episodes, the show covered virtually every existing scientific discipline, as well as science policy, education, and history."
"In January 2010, the Armed with Science webcast was expanded into this science and technology blog, which provides
a better conduit to celebrate those men and women involved in cutting-edge research and development at the Department of Defense. In the spirit of science, the blog will also be an “experiment in progress,” exploring new social technologies to better engage the public and continually evolving to meet the needs of our audience. Get SCIENCED!"
