ISF arrest 3 suspected AQI criminal associates
BAGHDAD –Iraqi Security Forces arrested three suspected Al-Qaeda in Iraq (AQI) criminal associates during a joint security operation today in southwest Baghdad.
ISF and U.S. advisors searched several buildings for a suspected AQI member who allegedly has close ties to AQI senior leadership.
Information and evidence gathered at the scene led Iraqi forces to identify and arrest three criminal associates.
All joint operations are pursuant to a warrant issued by an Iraqi judge.
Iraqi and U.S. forces conduct joint operations in accordance with the Security Agreement and in coordination with the Iraqi government to target terrorists seeking to disrupt the security and stability of Iraq.
Operation nets 2 suspected AQI members, criminal associate
BAGHDAD –Iraqi Security Forces arrested two suspected Al-Qaeda in Iraq (AQI) members and one criminal associate during joint security operations conducted in northern and southern Iraq today.
In Hawijah, ISF and U.S. advisors searched a building for a suspected AQI leader allegedly involved in the facilitation and emplacement of improvised explosive devices in the area.
Information and evidence gathered at the scene led Iraqi forces to identify and arrest the warranted individual.
During a separate operation in Baghdad, ISF and U.S. advisors searched a building for a suspected AQI member allegedly involved in foreign-fighter facilitation into Iraq.
Information and evidence gathered at the scene led Iraqi forces to identify and arrest the warranted individual.
During another operation in West Mosul, ISF and U.S. advisors searched a building for a suspected AQI leader allegedly involved in planning attacks on ISF and coalition forces.
Information and evidence gathered at the scene led Iraqi forces to identify and arrest an AQI criminal associate.
