While the enemy took the fight to kids, killing one and injuring two in separate attacks, the Coalition continued stacking up dead bad guys and caring for sick Afghans.
In Paktia, a Taliban Commander was killed with two partners for life. Upon seeing the death of their fearful, running leader, eight of his minions surrendered. A few squirters ran to safety out of an orchard.
The offensive in Khandahar and neighboring Helmand continues with the killed and captured mounting greater than they can be accurately counted. More than 1500 kilograms of Ammonium Nitrate has been captured in Khandahar in the last two days.
In Helmand a scooter gangster was killed when he pointed his weapon at the wrong crowd. And several more bad guys surrendered when they saw their buddy killed. Two more were killed in an airstrike.

Coalition forces saw several explosions in the vicinity of Darrah-I-Bum village. When the explosions stopped, the boy's uncle brought him to a nearby coalition base.
Afghan National Army and coalition medical personnel treated the boy at the base and then medically evacuated him by helicopter to another coalition medical facility for further treatment.
KABUL, Afghanistan - An Afghan child was killed and one wounded in an improvised explosive device blast in the Now Zad District of Helmand province today.
Afghan National Police members responded to the scene of the blast and transported the wounded child to a nearby coalition combat outpost.
Coalition forces medically evacuated the child for further medical care.
KABUL, Afghanistan - An Afghan and coalition security force killed Farman, a Taliban senior leader who terrorized the local population by participating in attacks, kidnappings, interrogations and executions of Afghan civilians. He was killed along with two of his associates during an overnight operation in Paktiya province.
Intelligence information led the security force to a compound in the village of Dinar Kheyl in Gardez District. As the combined security force approached the area, several armed insurgents ran from the targeted compound into a nearby orchard. The security force pursued them and immediately took enemy fire. The security force returned fire, killing three insurgents. After the gunfire ceased, the security force inspected the area and found a machine gun, automatic weapon, rocket-propelled grenade launcher with multiple rounds and multiple magazines with the insurgents.
After the area was secure, Afghan forces used a loudspeaker to call for all occupants to exit the targeted compound peacefully. The joint security force then cleared and secured the compound. They discovered a rifle and Taliban propaganda in the compound.
After initial questioning of the residents at the scene, the security force detained eight suspected insurgents.
"Omar continues to attempt leading from the safe-haven in Pakistan, meanwhile we continue removing his subordinate Taliban leaders from the battlefield," said U.S. Army Col. Rafael Torres, International Security Assistance Force Joint Command Combined Joint Operations Center director. "It's becoming clear that the Taliban's idea of leading from another country isn't terribly effective."
The security force protected the women and children for the duration of the search.
KABUL, Afghanistan - Coalition forces discovered more than 460 kilograms of ammonium nitrate in a village in the Arghandab district of Kandahar province Friday.
Coalition forces estimate more than 20 improvised explosive devices could have been made with the amount of banned material discovered.
This marks the second consecutive day coalition forces have made a significant find of IED-making material in Arghandab. On Thursday, forces found more than 1,100 kilograms of ammonium nitrate.
KABUL, Afghanistan - Afghan and coalition forces conducted another multi-day deliberate clearing operation aimed at disrupting the Taliban's freedom of movement in southern Afghanistan. The operation started, Sept. 30, and ended Friday night.
The joint force encountered continuous enemy contact, including rocket-propelled grenade, machine gun, recoilless rifle, mortar and small-arms fire throughout the operation. Multiple precision air strikes and direct fire from coalition aircraft, along with direct fire from the ground force, was employed in order to suppress enemy fire.
As other joint forces are heavily engaging the Taliban outside the city of Kandahar, combined security force operations continue to clear outlining Taliban safe havens throughout southern Afghanistan. This multi-day operation focused on a rural, agricultural region of Musa Qal'ah District in Helmand province where Taliban leaders use villages throughout the area to conduct operational planning, prepare and train for attacks.
The security force began the operation Thursday night, targeting several compounds in the area. Afghan forces used a loudspeaker to call for all occupants to exit the buildings peacefully and then the combined force cleared and secured the compounds. The security force detained four suspected insurgents throughout the operation.
"Afghan and coalition forces are repeatedly hitting the insurgents in their backyard, leaving no time for them to regroup," said U.S. Army Col. Rafael Torres, International Security Assistance Force Joint Command Combined Joint Operations Center director "The goal is to disrupt the enemy's sanctuaries and staging areas in the south, which are used for attacks against Afghan civilians and Afghan and coalition forces. Ultimately, these continued efforts will allow the Afghan people to build more security and governance without the worry of Taliban threats."
Due to the on-going enemy contact, the security force was unable to conduct battle damage assessments of the engagement areas. The security force is still collecting information to determine the number of enemy killed in action.
The security force protected the women and children for the duration of the searches.
KABUL, Afghanistan - While on a routine patrol, Afghan National Security and International Security Assistance Forces were targeted by an insurgent in Helmand province Thursday.
During the patrol, an insurgent on a motorbike approached the group. He stopped and raised his weapon at the patrol demonstrating a hostile intent and the security force responded by shooting and killing the insurgent
KABUL, Afghanistan - During a routine Afghan National Security and International Security Assistance Force patrol in Sangin District, Helmand province, the group engaged one insurgent and detained several suspected insurgents, Friday.
As the forces entered the target area, an insurgent ran at the patrol firing his weapon. He was subsequently killed with precision small-arms fire.
The joint force then moved to the compound from where the insurgent was firing from. After surrounding it, they called-out to the insurgent buildings within the compound. This led to four women and six children being protected. Several suspected insurgents were detained in the operation, one of which is associated with improvised explosive attacks in the area.
KABUL, Afghanistan - Multiple intelligence sources and tips from local citizens led to the location and a subsequent airstrike targeting a senior Taliban leader in the Nad 'Ali District of Helmand province today.
The targeted senior Taliban leader was reportedly the acting shadow district governor of Nad 'Ali. He was also active in numerous attacks against Afghan National Security and International Security Assistance Forces.
Initial reporting indicates that two of the targeted insurgents were killed and two insurgents fled the scene shortly after the airstrike.
Initial operational reporting states there were no civilian casualties.
KABUL, Afghanistan - Three times a week an average of 100 Afghan civilians make the trek to the Lindenau Health Clinic at Forward Operating Base Price in Helmand province.
The patients seek medical treatment for a variety of illnesses, minor cuts and scrapes, as well as follow ups for more serious wounds.
"We have to supplement the health care needs that aren't there for the people of this province," said one combat medic attached to a U.S. Special Forces unit working in the area. "Whomever Lashkar Gah hospital does not see comes to us. They either don't have the money to pay for the medications or they come here because they know it's safe."
