ANA, ANP meet with villagers to discuss security
KABUL, Afghanistan – Members of the Afghan National Army and Afghan National Police, with the assistance from U.S. Navy SEALs, held a meeting with local residents from a village in Arghandab District, Zabul province Monday to discuss national concerns.
The meeting’s main focus was stressing the importance of cooperation between three groups: villagers, the ANA and ANP to fight and overcome Taliban influence in the area. The leaders of the meeting highlighted that cooperation among the groups will ultimately result in the increased safety of the village.
The ANP commander responded to concerns of the villagers by stating that they, the ANA, ANP and the villagers, were all in the fight together against the Taliban and that they all needed to work together.
He also expressed villagers need to inform the ANP or ANA of any insurgent activities, because if they remained silent, Afghan National Security Forces would be unable to provide security assistance to villagers.
