Four Talib were killed in Helmand. In Paktia, 5 Haqqani leaders along with several minions were sent to their 72 virgin demons. So too, were several Haqqani IED emplacers killed in Khost.
And in Kandahar, another died from Hellfire on his motor scooter. Somehow his buddy survived and escaped on a partner's scooter.
Another Talib leader was captured in Logar. Even in Nimroz, 8 bad guys were captured.

The target is a senior Taliban leader in the Kajaki district who has actively planned, coordinated and executed improvised explosive device attacks against ANSF and ISAF. He now directs attacks and facilitates financial support to several Taliban groups in Helmand province.
He is also directly linked to senior Taliban leaders in Pakistan who provide direction and financial assistance.
Multiple intelligence sources and tips from citizens led the joint security force to a series of compounds the Taliban leader was suspected to be in. Upon arriving at the target location, the joint security force secured the area and used loudspeakers to conduct a serious of callouts to give the inhabitants an opportunity to exit peacefully.
During the clearance operations, four armed insurgents were killed when they attempted to engage the joint security force. A total of three men, 11 women and 32 children responded to the call-outs and were protected throughout the operation.
The resulting search of the compounds yielded several automatic weapons and 20 kilograms of heroin. Several suspected insurgents were detained during the operation.
The narcotics and weapons were destroyed safely on site. The detainees were taken into custody by Afghan authorities for further questioning.

KABUL, Afghanistan – An International Security Assistance Force air asset killed an insurgent in support of a joint operation in Shah Wali Kot District, Kandahar province, Thursday.
Air assets tracked two insurgents armed with rocket-propelled grenade launchers and automatic weapons moving in the area on a motorcycle. They fired one Hellfire missile, killing one and injuring the other.
The injured insurgent was evacuated by an accomplice on a motorcycle before coalition forces could move to his location.
Initial reports indicate no civilians were injured in this operation.
KABUL, Afghanistan – The International Security Assistance Force confirmed another Haqqani Network senior leader, Hibati, was killed during an overnight operation in Paktiya province Saturday.
Former ISAF releases confirmed Zubair and Qari Amil, both Haqqani Network facilitators responsible for the movement of weapons and improvised explosive device materials, along with Shabudin and Ibrahim, both Haqqani Network senior leaders in the area, were also killed during the operation. Hibati was Zubair’s deputy, who was the targeted individual in the operation.
Intelligence tips led the security force to a remote compound in Dzadran District. As the security force approached the area, they encountered several armed insurgents in established fighting positions. The security force could not assess all the engagement areas, but rocket-propelled grenades were among the weapons used by the insurgents.
Intelligence reports later confirmed the death of the five Haqqani leaders as well as several additional Haqqani fighters. It is assessed the security force had broken up a Haqqani leadership meeting.
Once the area was secure, Afghan forces used a loudspeaker to call for all occupants to exit the buildings peacefully, and then the security force cleared the compound. After initial questioning at the scene, the security force detained three suspected insurgents.
The assault protected the women and children for the duration of the search
KABUL, Afghanistan – An Afghan and coalition security force captured a Taliban leader extremely active in the facilitation, manufacture and use of improvised explosive devices along public roads in the Baraki Barak District, during an overnight operation in Logar province Wednesday.
The targeted individual also participates in the facilitation of weapons and ammunition to be used in attacks.
Intelligence reports led the security force to a compound in Baraki Barak District to search for the targeted individual. Afghan forces used a loudspeaker to call for all occupants to exit the buildings peacefully, and then the security force cleared and secured the area. After initial questioning at the scene, the security force identified and detained the targeted individual.
In western Nimroz province, a separate security force targeting a senior Taliban leader involved in vehicle-borne improvised explosive device and complex attacks throughout Farah and Nimroz provinces, detained more than eight suspected insurgents during an overnight operation. The targeted individual is also a key facilitator and attack coordinator in the area’s weapons and IED facilitation network.
Intelligence tips led the security force to a remote compound in Khash Rod district to search for the targeted individual. After an Afghan-led call out, the joint security force cleared and secured the area. After initial questioning at the scene, the security force detained the suspected insurgents.
The assault force did not fire their weapons during either operation and they protected the women and children for the duration of the searches.
KABUL, Afghanistan – Coalition forces conducted a precision air strike in Khost province Wednesday targeting a Haqqani Network senior leader who coordinates and conducts attacks against Afghan and coalition forces.
Coalition forces observed the senior leader with a group of insurgents in a remote area of Khost district as they were emplacing an improvised explosive device along the road. After careful planning to avoid civilian causalities, coalition forces conducted the precision air strike, killing several insurgents.
ISAF is still trying to verify if the targeted individual was among those killed in the strike.
