Insurgent Attack at Faryab Market Condemned

ISAF Joins President of Afghanistan in Condemning Insurgent Bombing at Faryab Market

11.05.2010  ISAF Joint Command   KABUL, Afghanistan– ISAF joins President Karzai in denouncing the senseless, brutal attack by insurgents that resulted in 10 reported deaths of innocent Afghans and more than 30 injured.

The attack occurred Nov. 5 at the Juma Bazaar in Faryab province when an insurgent detonated his suicide vest in the crowded market. Among the injured was the chief of the Faryab Provincial Council.

“The vicious murder of Afghans who only wish to live normal, peaceful lives

 demonstrates the insurgents’ malicious contempt for the people,” said Rear Adm. Vic Beck, ISAF Director of Public Affairs. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of those victimized by this attack, and we will work with our Afghan partners to find those responsible and bring them to justice.”
