Pakistan Identifies 20 More Suspects In Mumbai Attacks
VoA News: A Pakistani newspaper says Pakistan has identified 20 additional suspects allegedly involved in the 2008 Mumbai attacks that left 166 people dead.
The online edition of the Express Tribune reports the counter-terrorism wing of a Pakistani federal agency has identified the suspects as members of the banned terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).
The newspaper, quoting a classified report, said the suspects allegedly provided monetary and logistical support for the attack on India’s financial capital.
Seven Pakistanis already have been arrested on charges of planning the attacks on luxury hotels, a rail station, Jewish center and restaurant.
Pakistan has pledged cooperation in the case, but Indian officials have long accused the Pakistani government of delaying the investigation.
Nine of the 10 attackers were killed during the 60-hour siege. The surviving terrorist has been sentenced to death.
