Afghan, coalition forces provide livestock vaccinations
ISAF-JC: KABUL, Afghanistan – Members of the Afghan National Police, the Afghan National Border Police and the provincial reconstruction team in Mazar-e-Sharif, provided vaccinations for the local villager’s cattle in Qrantoqai village in northern Afghanistan this past week.
It was important to introduce the vaccination to the villagers, along with bringing the PRT and the U.S. Army together for the project, according to Dr Rahmatulleh, officer in charge of the North Region Afghan Veterinary Association. “
The Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock provided the medication for this project and will continue to play an active role in quality control of veterinary companies and clinics, according to Dr. Mohammad Rafiq, head of the veterinary department in Balkh province.
Rahmatulleh wants to continue this project in other areas as well such as Samangan, Balkh, Jowzjan and Faryab.
