Tuesday, December 28th, 2010 VOA News France's foreign intelligence service said Tuesday it has evidence that French hostage Denis Allex, who was kidnapped in Somalia last year, is alive.
Allex, a French secret service agent in Somalia training government forces, was taken by an Islamist group from his hotel in Mogadishu on July 14, 2009.
A spokesman for the French intelligence agency said ongoing negotiations with the hostage-takers were particularly hard.
Spokesman Nicolas Wuest-Famose said there is new evidence that proves Allex is alive but there was no information regarding his health or location.
