U.S. President Barack Obama is making a surprise trip to Afghanistan.
Mr. Obama landed unannounced at Bagram Air Base late Friday. He will meet with Afghan President Hamid Karzai, American troops [as a backdrop for a speech] and top U.S. advisors [very briefly] in the region.
News agencies report the president will spend several hours in Afghanistan.
This is Mr. Obama's second trip to Afghanistan as president and comes as the White House plans to release a review of the administration's war strategy announced last year when Mr. Obama ordered an additional 30,000 troops to Afghanistan.
