John Fourniquet 42 years old, husband, father, and Marine. Recently diagnosed with stage 4 Metastatic Melanoma. Although his prognosis is poor, John and his family are fighters! It is their desire to BEAT this disease. John was originally diagnosed with skin cancer in 2006 while on active duty in the United States Marine Corps. It was believed that the cancer was treated, until October 8, 2010, when John's family received the devastating news that the cancer had returned. The Melanoma is present in his brain, lung and spine. John under went a costly craniotomy to remove the largest (3.2 cm) tumor from his brain. He is scheduled to receive radiation and chemotherapy in hopes of shrinking the remaining 7 tumors.
The melanoma is a pre-existing condition that is not covered by insurance. The Fourniquets will offer their 66 fastback Mustang through ticket sales, in order to raise funds for his treatment and living expenses. Please purchase a $25.00 ticket for a chance to win the 66 Fastback Mustang, and provide much needed help for the Fourniquet family. The contest will begin on November 12, 2010, and the winner will be determined on December 23, 2010.
But get over there quick and buy the tickets you can. H/T to the great Marine USMC81 for publicizing this need of a fellow Marine. Personally, I'd have a hard time accepting the Mustang if I won. I'd also have a hard time turning it down. In the end, I couldn't take away his prize possession, particularly because I understand what a great thing it is. And you can find out today, if you win.
