Two mail bombs have exploded at two government offices in Maryland.
Currently, it is reported that 2 4-7 injuries occurred when flame shot out of the packages/letters.
Mail delivery has been shut down until investigators complete their work.
The Jeffrey Building in Annapolis houses the Department of Homeland Security. 1 Injured Finger singed. 1225hrs Addressed to Governor O'Malley.
The Maryland Department of Transportation was also targeted. 1 3-6 Injured 1245 hrs. Fingers singed. Others taken to hospital as a precautionary measure.

In both cases, a government employee opened the book sized package, whereupon the device initiated a flash, singing the person's fingers, and releasing a sulphuric odor and smoke. No persons or groups have yet claimed responsibility or been identified as the culprit.
Both were incendiary devices. Package was bubblewrap style manila envelope with holiday stamps and no return address through the US Postal Service. MD Government Mail rooms remain closed at this time.
At least one message was included, but have not been made public.

The Maryland packages, each about the size of a book, included a message with the words “report suspicious activity,” which authorities said was likely a reference to signs posted on the state's highways encouraging drivers to contact authorities.
