An IED emplacer who was involved in attacks against FOB Warrior was captured in a routine combined forces vehicle traffic stop in Ghazni Province.
Facilitators and insurgents were captured in all provinces providing reports today. In Helmand and Kunar multiple insurgents and facilitators were killed.
Multiple weapons caches were found and another pressure plate, shells, rockets, grenades, hand guns and RPG's were recovered.

The International Security Assistance Force joins President Karzai in condemning today’s insurgent attack in Kunduz province.
Initial reports indicate a bicycle-borne IED detonated near an Afghan National Army recruiting center, killing more than 30 Afghans, including four children, and wounding more than 40 others.
“There is no denying the disregard insurgents have for the sanctity of innocent life. The killing of civilians is a brutal tactic that further turns the Afghan population against the insurgency, and only strengthens the resolve of international forces,” said Rear Admiral Vic Beck, ISAF Director of Public Affairs. “We join President Karzai in condemning this atrocity. We will continue to work with our Afghan counterparts to disrupt the networks behind this attack, and bring those responsible to justice.”
Helmand Province
Several insurgents were killed after attacking a coalition forces patrol in Reg-e Khan Neshin district, Helmand province today.
While conducting a dismounted patrol coalition forces came under attack with small arms fire by several insurgents. After positively identifying the threat, the patrol engaged and killed several insurgents.
There were no damages or friendly casualties reported.

Afghan and coalition forces conducting a mounted patrol discovered a weapons cache in Nahr-e Saraj district, Helmand province today. The cache consisted of five 150 mm shells linked to a pressure plate, one 152 mm high explosive round, one 122 mm high explosive round and two 107mm rockets.
Kunar Province
International Security Assistance Force killed several insurgents during an operation in Darah-ye Pech district, Kunar province, today.
Coalition forces observed several insurgents moving tactically and carrying heavy automatic weapons. After establishing positive identification, coalition forces engaged the enemy position, killing several insurgents. There were no damages or civilian casualties reported as result of this operation.

Baghlan Province
Afghan and coalition security forces targeted a Taliban and Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan safe haven and detained numerous insurgents during security operations in Burkah district, Baghlan province, yesterday.
Intelligence reports led the security force to the targeted compound where they called for all residents to exit the buildings peacefully before conducting a search. Numerous suspected insurgents were detained at the scene after initial questioning.
Zabul Province
Afghan and coalition forces captured a Taliban facilitator and detained two suspected insurgents during security operations in Shamulzai district, Zabul province, yesterday.
The leader was responsible for the logistical movement of supplies, improvised explosive devices and fighters for Taliban throughout Zabul province. He was also known to be closely associated with an IED facilitator in the Shajoy district.
Intelligence reports led the security force to the targeted compound where they called for all residents to exit the buildings peacefully before conducting a search. The targeted facilitator and two suspected insurgents were detained at the scene after initial questioning.
Kandahar Province
In Zhari district, Kandahar province, Afghan and coalition forces targeted a Taliban leader and detained several suspected insurgents, yesterday.
The leader is a weapons expert who is involved in the facilitation and acquisition of mortars and explosives. He specializes in acquiring and assembling suicide vests, for use in attacks against Afghan and coalition forces.
Multiple intelligence reports guided the security force to the targeted compound where Afghan forces called for all occupants to exit the buildings peacefully before conducting a search. Several suspected insurgents were detained after initial questioning at the scene for involvement in insurgent activity.

Kapisa Province
Combined Afghan and coalition forces patrol discovered a weapons cache in Tagab district, Kapisa province today. The cache consisted of 103 9 mm rounds, 30 hand grenades, one bayonet, 257 7.62 mm rounds, two combat jackets and various hand guns of different type.
Kabul Province
In Musahi district, Kabul province Afghan and coalition forces discovered a weapons cache today consisting of 100 rocket propelled grenades.
All weapons, have been or will be destroy by the security forces.
Ghazni Province
Afghan and coalition forces captured a member of the Jahadi group, an IED emplacer during a routine vehicle traffic stop in Gelan district, Ghazni province, yesterday. The IED emplacer was involved in attacks against Forward Operating Base Warrior in the district. He was captured in a routine combined forces vehicle traffic stop in the district.
Khost Province
In the Sabari and Bak districts of Khost province, Afghan and coalition forces targeted a Hezb-e Islami Gulbuddin weapons and IED facilitator, and detained two suspected insurgents during security operations, yesterday.
The facilitator works as a middle man for insurgents who are in need of IED components such as fuses, prime cords, gun powder and other bomb-making materials. He is responsible for coordinating and conducting IED attacks in the Sabari district.
The security force advanced to the targeted compound where they called for the residents to exit the buildings peacefully before conducting a search. Two suspected insurgents were detained after initial questioning at the scene for involvement in insurgent activity.
Security forces also recovered two chest racks and IED making materials.
