Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force - Afghanistan
BADGHIS, Afghanistan (April 28, 2011) – The 4th Commando Kandak, advised and assisted by U. S. Special Operations Forces, executed a successful combat mission in Panjauw village in Bala Murghab District on April 27, killing seven insurgents.
During the Afghan led mission, the force conducted patrols through the village in search of insurgent fighters, weapon caches, and key insurgent leaders who operate in the area. Panjauw is an area that has seen limited Afghan government or coalition force presence, making it a location of choice for insurgent activities.
The partnered force also seized three chest rigs, two AK-47 assault rifles, two Russian made machine guns, and one grenade launcher. No civilians were injured no property damage was reported during the operation.
