An imam and members of his family were among those killed in Friday attacks, according to Iraqi officials.
Security officials in eastern Diyala province say gunmen stormed the imam's home in a small village outside the provincial capital, Baqouba. The imam, his wife and their daughter were killed.
In a separate incident in the town of Buhriz, gunmen broke into a house and killed at least three brothers who worked in an anti-al-Qaida militia.
The violence follows a suicide bomb attack on a Shi'ite mosque on Thursday in the restive province that left at least eight people dead and 18 others wounded.
Diyala is a mixed Sunni and Shi'ite province and is one of the few remaining areas where al-Qaida and other Sunni insurgent groups are still battling Iraqi security forces.
