VoA News: The son of Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour has been sentenced to 16 months in prison for his role in a London student rampage last year that included an attack on a car carrying Britain's Prince Charles and his wife, Camilla.
A judge at Kingston Crown Court said Friday that Charlie Gilmour, 21, a student at Cambridge University, could be freed after serving eight months.
The younger Gilmour was among thousands of students who demonstrated against rising university tuition fees last December 9.
He was with a group of protesters that broke away from the main demonstration and attacked cars accompanying the royal convoy. The judge found that he hurled a trash bin at the Rolls Royce carrying Prince Charles and his wife.
Charlie Gilmour was also photographed hanging on the Cenotaph, the most prominent memorial to British war dead.
