BAGRAM, Afghanistan – Afghan and Coalition forces operations resulted in the detention of 18 suspected individuals over the past 48 hours throughout the region.
Coalition forces detained seven individuals in Sabari District, Khowst Province. They were transferred to the custody of the Afghan National Security Forces for questioning. In Yosef Khel District, Paktika Province, Afghan Uniform Police detained two suspected insurgents after engaging Coalition forces with small-arms fire. Two additional individuals, wanted for questioning, were detained in Khowst Province, one by the Afghan Border Police and the other by ANSF. Coalition forces in Bagram District, Parwan Province detained six suspected insurgents after being engaged with small arms fire.
The final detainee was taken into custody for fleeing the site of a weapons cache in Khas Kunar District, Kunar Province. The weapons cache consisted of two bolt action rifles, more than 120 rounds of assorted ammunition, one pistol, binoculars, and two tactical vests.
