A combined Afghan and coaltion security force captured a Taliban leader during an operation in Panjwa’i district, Kandahar province, Monday.
The leader distributed weapons and supplies throughout the Panjwa’i district, as well as, planned ambush and roadside bomb attacks against coalition forces.
The security force detained one additional suspected insurgent during the operation.

In Zharay district, Kandahar province, a combined Afghan and coaltion security force detained two suspected insurgents during an operation in search of a Taliban leader, yesterday. The leader is responsible for roadside bomb attacks throughout region.
A combined Afghan and coalition security patrol discovered nearly 2,200 pounds (1,000 kilograms) of marijuana during routine operations in Reg-e Khan Neshin district, Helmand province, yesterday. The drugs were safely destroyed on the site.

In Dilah wa Khoshamand district, Paktika province, a combined Afghan and coalition security patrol detained one suspected insurgent and discovered a weapons cache yesterday. The cache consisted of three AK-47 rifles, three ammunition pouches, 14 ammunition magazines, improvised explosive device wiring, various components used to construct IEDs, seven grenades, one machine gun, and a quantity of small arms ammunition. All of the weapons were confiscated by the combined force and will be destroyed at a later date.
A combined Afghan and coaltion security force captured a Haqqani network leader and detained one additional suspected insurgent during an operation in Terayzai district, Khost province, yesterday. The leader planned roadside bomb and direct fire attacks against Afghan forces.
In Chak-e Wardak district, Wardak province, a combined Afghan and coaltion security force detained multiple suspected insurgents during an operation in search of a Taliban leader yesterday. The leader conducts attacks against Afghan forces.
