GHAZNI PROVINCE, Afghanistan—U.S. Service members serving in the Polish Military Contingent, Task Force White Eagle, took part in a medal presentation at Forward Operating Base Ghazni, Feb. 1, where they were awarded a Polish military medal.

The decorations, which were approved the Republic of Poland Minister for impeccable service for Task Force White Eagle, were presented by Polish Brig. Gen. Piotr Blazeusz, Task Force White Eagle commander. During the ceremony Blazeusz addressed the soldiers thanking them for their professionalism and dedication to duty.
“I am proud to command the best of the US soldiers. The Polish Military Contingent can fully use your knowledge and skills” said Blazeusz.
The Gold Polish Armed Forces Medal was awarded to U.S. Army Col. Robert Gaudsmith and U.S. Navy Cmdr. Tristan Rizzi.
The Silver Polish Armed Forces Medal was awarded to U.S. Army Maj. Jong Jun and Edward Diamantis.
The Bronze Polish Armed Forces Medal was awarded to U.S. Army Capt. Ricardo Philips, U.S. Army 1st Sgt. Russell Hale, Staff Sgt. Bradley Vogt, and Sgt. Scotty Niffen.
The Polish Armed Forces Medal was established by the Polish Parliament to recognize other nation’s citizens for outstanding cooperation and support for Polish Armed Forces.
