It's difficult to believe, it's been over a year since I became acquainted with Nathan Webster, a Desert Storm Veteran, who had gone to Iraq as a freelance photo-journalist a few years in a row. It wasn't long before I found out he was putting his pictures and stories into a book. A few, very few have the pleasure of having a printed copy of the book, but now, it is available in Kindle format. ((Yeah, yeah, I have one and only a few of you do!))
Four of his pictures have been displayed in a museum and the book was particularly popular with the unit he covered in Iraq. Every picture tells a story, but there is a story that goes with each of these pictures.
Nathan doesn't attempt to portray himself as a fearless, omniscient war correspondent with all the answers. He confesses to readers the times he was scared, lost, or misguided. He doesn't try to be the story. He puts Our Troops center stage.
You don't have to have a Kindle to read his stories and study his pictures. Though I probably would have more eBooks than sense if I had a Kindle. There is a free program to read Kindle books on your other computer devices, including your laptop. I've heard great things about Kindles, and they make it very easy to buy a book. This book seems to come in smaller chunks than the full sized book, but that means you can try it out at smaller prices. Take a look! (One word of caution: you may get addicted to his pictures & stories.)
