BAGRAM, Afghanistan (April 3, 2012) –Afghan and Coalition Forces killed two insurgents and captured 16 in eastern Afghanistan during operations throughout the past 24 hours, April 2.
Coalition forces killed two insurgents and wounded two others after responding to small-arms fire in Giro District, Ghazni Province. Three insurgents were also detained during the attack.
Coalition forces and Afghan National Army soldiers detained 10 individuals following an improvised explosive device strike in Alingar District, Laghman Province. Additionally, combined forces detained one suspected individual in Gardez District, Paktiya Province.
In Baghlan, an Hezb-e-Islami bomb wounded 23 Afghans, including women and children.

An Afghan-led security force captured a Taliban facilitator during an operation in Daman district, Kandahar province, today. The facilitator supplied insurgents throughout the district with weapons, ammunition and equipment. He also participated in roadside bombings and other attacks against Afghan and coalition security forces.
In Maiwand district, Kandahar province, a combined Afghan and coalition security force discovered a drug cache during routine operations, today. The cache consisted of 1,650 pounds (750 kilograms) of marijuana, which was destroyed on-site.
