HERAT, Afghanistan - Insurgents attacked a group Afghan National Security Forces with automatic weapons and rocket propelled grenade in Bala Boluk district, in Farah province today. The Afghan soldiers reacted immediately to the threat and requested help from ISAF Task Force South to combat the situation.
A Quick Reaction Force responded immediately in support of the ANSF.
Together, the Afghan and coalition soldiers engaged the insurgents who began to flee the area. The Afghan Uniform Police pursued and captured six insurgents.
