"The enemies of people of Afghanistan intentionally kill innocent civilian citizens of Afghanistan. Last week one of their planted roadside bombs struck a van full of civilian passengers in route from
Kabul to Ghazni, killing innocent people and severely injuring others, including women and children. We strongly condemn these cowardly actions of the enemies of the people of Afghanistan that result in killing and injuring innocent civilians of Afghanistan with the strongest terms,"
said Shahidullah Shahid,Wardak Provincial Governor spokesperson.
A recent study by the human rights section of the U.N. Assistance Mission in Afghanistan found that 79 percent of the Afghan civilian casualties this year were attributed to actions by anti-government
elements. Despite the efforts of the enemies of the Government of Islamic Republic
of Afghanistan, ISAF forces in eastern Afghanistan remain committed to partnering with their Afghan National Security Forces counterparts to secure a stable and prosperous future for the Afghan people.
