Officials in southeastern Afghanistan say a roadside bomb hit a bus Sunday, killing five passengers, including women and children.
Authorities say the blast wounded 11 people in Ghazni province. The bus was traveling from Kabul to the southern city of Kandahar.
One of the wounded told the Reuters news agency from the hospital that when the bus reached the area where the blast occurred, the coalition soldiers warned the driver not to go ahead but he did not listen.
No one has claimed responsibility for Sunday's explosion, but improvised explosive devices along roads are a common insurgent tactic. VoA.
