BAGRAM, Afghanistan (July 26, 2012) – Afghan and coalition forces killed four insurgents, detained 17 and cleared six improvised explosive devices during operations in eastern Afghanistan throughout the past 24 hours, July 25.
Ghazni Province
Afghan National Security Forces and coalition forces detained 14 insurgents during an engagement in Muqer District. The detained suspects were transferred to a base for questioning.
Kapisa Province
Afghan National Security Forces and coalition forces found and safely cleared an IED in Tagab District.
Khowst Province
Afghan Uniformed Police and coalition forces detained an insurgent during an engagement in Terezayi District. The detained suspect was transferred to a base for questioning.
Kunar Province
A coalition airstrike killed two insurgents in Watahpur District in response to Afghan National Security Forces and coalition forces receiving small arms.
Logar Province
Afghan National Security Forces and coalition forces found and safely cleared three IEDs, one in Charkh District and two in Pul-E Alam District.
A coalition airstrike killed two insurgents in Bermal District in response to Afghan National Security Forces and coalition forces receiving small arms.
Afghan National Security Forces and coalition forces found and safely cleared an IED in Giyan District.
Paktiya Province
Afghan Border Police and coalition forces detained two insurgents during an engagement in Lajah Ahmad Khel District. The detained suspects were transferred to a base for questioning.
Wardak Province
Afghan National Security Forces and coalition forces found and safely cleared two IEDs in Meydan Shar District.
