Paki EOD Policeman killed by IEDs

SWAT-VALLEY_3Pakistani police say a senior officer has been killed while trying to defuse a bomb in the country's northwest.

Hakam Khan was killed Friday in the city of Peshawar after being dispatched to a main road where two bombs had been planted.

Police say Khan successfully defused the first bomb, but was killed while trying to defuse the second one.

Islamists have been responsible for a number of attacks in Peshawar and elsewhere in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province, which borders Pakistan's restive tribal region. VoA.
