06.26.2013 KABUL, Afghanistan - The International Security Assistance Force strongly condemns the senseless killing yesterday of nine Afghan women and children from a roadside IED in Kandahar province.
"The enemies of Afghanistan continue to demonstrate their complete disregard for human life and
peace by deliberately placing IEDs along well-traveled roads or populated areas, indiscriminately targeting innocent Afghan men, women and children, said Gen. Joseph F. Dunford, the ISAF commander. "Our condolences go out to the loved ones affected by yesterday’s senseless violence."
The IED attack in Kandahar came on the heels of an attack yesterday in Kabul which claimed the lives of Afghan security personnel.
"Despite these acts of violence, there is a path to peace and stability here, and our support for the Afghan people remains resolute and unwavering as they move toward a better future," said Dunford.
