Rivadeneira was an Infantryman assigned to Company B., 2nd Battalion, 502nd Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault).
He joined the Army in May 2003 and arrived at Fort Campbell in May 2009.
His awards and decorations include: Purple Heart; Army Commendation Medal; Army Achievement Medal; Valorous Unit Award; Army Good Conduct Medal; National Defense Service Medal; Afghanistan Campaign Medal; Iraq Campaign Medal; Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal; Global War on Terrorism Service Medal; Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development; Army Service Ribbon; Overseas Service Ribbon; NATO Defense Medal; Combat Infantryman Badge and Expert Infantryman Badge.
Rivadeneira is survived by his wife, Melissa Rivadeneira and son, Juan A. Rivadeneira of Germany.; and mother, Yenni S. Rivadeneira of Venezuela.
He was remembered at Church of the Little Flower in Hollywood, FL on Dec 3, 2010 and laid to rest at the South Florida VA National Cemetary.
