Honoring SSG Sean Michael Flannery

Sean Michael Flannery, 29, of Wyomissing, Pennsylvania, was born Feb 12, 1981.  He graduated from Wyomissing High School in 1999 and Shippensburg University in 2003 with a major in business, where he also played LaCrosse.

"He was a real good guy. He was quiet." Charlie Kuhns, uncle.

"Sean was just a very special fine young man who really had a great future." Charlene Flannery, mother.

"So many people including myself have been so blessed to have known such a true hero with a kindred soul!" Kim Oravetz, schoolmate.

"We would always be down in the basement, where the video games were.  It was a guarantee that four or five times someone would have to come yell down at us because we'd end up wrestling or something." Danny Kuhns, cousin.

"Sean knew just how to put a smile on anyone's face, not only a terrific friend but also a great inspiration to many." Elaina Murguia, friend.

"His father was an 82nd Airborne Veteran of the Viet Nam War and a lawyer.

Honoring PFC Christian M "Kade" Warriner

Christian Michael Warriner, 19, of Mills River, NC, graduated from West Henderson HS in 2009, where he played football and was a member of the Army JROTC and Future Farmers of America. He married his HS Sweetheart Shelby in March 2010.

“He was a young man, who knew what he wanted to do.” Dean Jones, HS principal.  “Most all my conversations with him the last part of his senior year were about how excited he was about joining the Army.” 

“He knew who he was.  He was confident. He was a really good guy.”  Sebastien Castellanos, a junior at West Henderson.

“He was a hard-working kid. Whatever you asked him to do, he would do it.” Paul Whitaker, football coach. "That's what he wanted to do was to go into the Army after he graduated, and that's what he did. He wasn't a starter on our team, but he was a key player at every practice, challenging the other players. He played the game just like he did his job in the Army, with no fear.”

Honoring SPC Jacob C Carroll

Jacob Charles Carroll was born June 27, 1990 in High Point, NC.  He graduated in 2008 from Trinity HS where he played football.

He enjoyed muscle cars, 4 wheel drive trucks, four wheelers, and motorcycles.

He spent hours with his Uncle Cary Mullinnex restoring a 1969 Camaro Z28.

 Jake was a 3rd Generation Paratrooper, who's Grandfather served in the 101st and who's Father served in the 82nd.  Both had earned Jumpmaster status and he planned to earn that trusted role as well.

Carroll was an Infantryman assigned to Company B., 2^nd Battalion, 502^nd Infantry Regiment, 101^st Airborne Division (Air Assault).

He joined the Army in January 2009 and arrived at Fort Campbell June 2009. 

His awards and decorations include: Purple Heart; National Defense Service Medal; Afghanistan Campaign Medal; Global War on Terrorism Service Medal; Army Service Ribbon; and Parachutists Badge.

 

Honoring MAJ Paul D Carron

Paul Douglas Carron, born September 15, 1977, grew up at Ft Bragg, NC, and was a graduate of Vilseck HS, Germany and of United States Military Academy., West Point.

"I was always utterly impressed with the knowledge, dedication, and seriousness with which Paul approached our profession. In my mind, I always held Paul up as the standard of competency, and tried to measure up to his professional abilities."
