Honoring 2nd Lt. Robert A. Miller

The Department of Defense POW/Missing Personnel Office (DPMO) announced today that the remains of 11 U.S. servicemen, missing in action from World War II, have been identified and are being returned to their families for burial with full military honors. 

                 Army Air Forces 2^nd Lt. Robert A. Miller, 22, Memphis, TN, will be buried on March 24 in Arlington National Cemetery.  On Nov. 20, 1943, Miller, along with 10 other B-24D Liberator crew members, took off from Jackson Airfield, Port Moresby, New Guinea, on an overwater mission near the northern coast of the country.  During the mission, the only radio transmission from the crew indicated they were 20 miles northwest of Port Moresby, but they did not return to Jackson Airfield.  Subsequent searches failed to uncover any evidence of either the crew or the aircraft. 

Honoring Cpl Chad Stafford Wade

Chad Stafford Wade of Bentonville, Arkansas was born May 25, 1988 in Memphis, TN.  He graduated from Rogers High school in 2007.

He enjoyed hunting, golf, fishing, football, and baseball.  He was a fan of the Tennessee Volunteers and Indianapolis Colts.  He loved his dog, Remi, named after Remington Rifles.

He enlisted in the Marines on October 16, 2007.  He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division.

Honoring Nathan E Lillard

Nathan Lillard was born on August 18, 1984 in East Ridge, TN, grew up in McMinn County, Tennessee and graduated Lenoir City HS in 2003.

"He was an excellent kid, very respectful and soft-spoken. He wanted to serve his country even while he was in high school." David Widby, Principal

Schoolmate Jamie Petty remembers Nathan as one of the nicest guys and with a great since of humor.

He later worked at Modern Supply.

Lillard was an Infantryman assigned to Alpha Company, 1^st Battalion, 327^th Infantry Regiment, 1^st Brigade Combat Team, 101^st Airborne Division (Air Assault).

Honoring SPC Jeremy L Brown

Jeremy Lynn Brown of McMinnville, TN

He was a Fire Support Specialist assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 187th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Air Assault. He joined the Army in June 2007 and arrived at Fort Campbell in May 2009.

"I had the privilege to serve with Jeremy, and he was an awesome soldier, and great friend. He never complained and was always willing to go above and beyond." Fellow Soldier

"I had the honor of serving next to Jeremy, he was a good soldier, and a great friend to all who knew him.  He was truely a one in a million person." Fellow Soldier

His awards and decorations include: Army Commendation Medal; Army Achievement Medal w/ Oak Leaf Cluster; Purple Heart; Army Good Conduct Medal; Afghanistan Campaign Medal; National Defense Service Medal; Global War on Terrorism Service Medal; Overseas Service Ribbon; NATO Medal; Army Service Ribbon and Weapons Qualification, M4, expert.

Brown is survived by his parents, Rhonda S. Brown and Connie M. Brown, both of McMinnville, TN.

Honoring PFC Jonathon Hall

Jonathon David Hall, 23, of Chattanooga, TN, grew up in Anchorage, AK.

He enjoyed skateboarding and playing hockey.  He is remembered for his extensive preparation prior to joining the military, physically, mentally, spiritually, and in studying for medical skills.

In 1998, Hall was baptized in Israel and was a member of the Woodland Park Baptist Church in Chattanooga.

“As a grandfather I have to say he was an outstanding young man. While he was here he worked for a jobs agency owned by a neighbor of mine and they really appreciated him because he was always prompt and on time and did his work.” Don Priddy, grandfather.

Honoring Tech. Sgt. Lucian I. Oliver, Jr.

Oliver, Jr., 23 Memphis, Tenn, will be buried on March 24 in Arlington National Cemetery.  On Nov. 20, 1943, Streckenbach, along with 10 other B-24D Liberator crew members, took off from Jackson Airfield, Port Moresby, New Guinea, on an overwater mission near the northern coast of the country.  During the mission, the only radio transmission from the crew indicated they were 20 miles northwest of Port Moresby, but they did not return to Jackson Airfield.  Subsequent searches failed to uncover any evidence of either the crew or the aircraft.
